Flevostrand

Between the Veluwemeer and the polder

At Molecaten Flevostrand in Biddinghuizen, the Veluwemeer is central to the holiday setting. Behind the reed beds are a marina, a beach camping area and a section on the inland side of the dyke. Harderwijk is on the opposite shore. If you enjoy staying near water, the location can shape your days: watching boats, heading to the beach or getting out on the lake.

That arrangement also matters when choosing accommodation. According to the park description, furnished safari tents, camping cabins and chalets are in the inland section. Booking a rental stay does not therefore automatically mean a position directly beside the lake. It does let you enjoy a camping atmosphere without bringing your own tent or caravan.

From a chalet for two to a family stay

The selection includes the two-person Weideklokje chalet. Larger parties can compare other chalets, the six-person Fuut rental caravan and different five-person stays, including safari tents and camping cabins. There is consequently a genuine choice between accommodation styles as well as guest capacities.

A chalet with a veranda offers a different experience from a furnished tent. If you want a family stay with a camping feel, compare the tent and cabin variants with the holiday homes. For a smaller trip, the two-person chalet provides another starting point. Compare bedrooms, bathroom arrangements and outside space for each model, since one destination contains several different layouts.

More than one way to enjoy the water

The Veluwemeer offers opportunities for watersports. A sailing and windsurfing school and boat hire are among the possibilities described by the park. The marina also gives Flevostrand a different character from a site centred only on a swimming pool. You can make the watersports setting central to your holiday or alternate it with activities within the grounds.

An indoor pool and an outdoor pool provide other swimming options, with children’s pools included in the described facilities. The indoor playground and play areas can be useful for family days too. This gives groups with children of different ages more than one way to spend time on the same park.

Include the surrounding towns

You could also consider visiting Harderwijk or Elburg, so a holiday here need not revolve exclusively around swimming and boating. Choose whether a chalet, cabin or tent suits your group, then visit the provider for the full photo gallery and availability. The exact position of the chosen model within the park is a useful final point to compare.
